TheConfidentWomanAnother great book by Joyce Meyer, The Confident Woman, is one of those books that every woman should read at least once.  The subtitle reads: Start Today Living Boldly and Without Fear.

You probably know a woman that you could describe as confident.  She lives boldly and takes decisive action, without questioning herself all the time or doubting her abilities.  She seems to have a quality about her that inspires and encourages.  Maybe you are that woman.  Maybe you want to be that woman.

So what keeps any woman from being her best?

That is the question Joyce explores in this book.  Identifying several characteristics of a Confident Woman, you are invited to live a more positive and honest life, stemming from a close relationship with God.

In the very first chapter, I was immediately drawn in by this:

Confidence allows us to face life with boldness, openness, and honesty.  It enables us to live without worry and to feel safe.  It enables us to live authentically.”

Living authentically – it’s what so many of us women want but maybe we don’t quite have it yet.  People with low confidence, however,

…live narrow little lives, and they miss out on the big, rewarding lives God wants them to enjoy.

All leading up to this point:

When we have confidence in God and His love and kindness, we can progress to living confidently and enjoying the life He wants for us.

Whether we deal with fear (fear of failure, fear of success), anxiety, insecurity, or even anger, we hold back and do not live to our full potential or the life God desires for us.

As I read this book, I read some challenging thoughts that I am still chewing on.  Can I say right here and now, that one of the things I enjoy about Joyce Meyer is her directness?  While it often leads to conviction, I also find that so much of what she says is true because it aligns with the Word of God, and it leaves me considering the truth of its application to my own life.
