Mommies Coffee Break

Oh how I love music.  A good CD that I can play and sing to at the top of my lungs – whether while I’m driving or cleaning my house.  I recently won a CD from Blogher.com and I am SO. THRILLED.

I love my praise and worship music:  Twila Paris is one of my favorite artists and I have several of her CDs.  Steve Green.  Sandi Patty.

I love my pop love songs, too, and am a humongous Celine Dion fan.

There is something about a singer whose voice is not just great or excellent – but actually the “stuff” of Music itself.  There are some great singers out there and by my collection of CDs you’d think I am a fan of everyone.  That’s not quite true.  There are some singers whose voices just really display everything music was designed for – they have “The Gift” and they share it with others.

Let me just say:

Thank you God for Michael Bublé.

Do not get me wrong – I am not being facetious here. There are gifts of voice that some people possess that just showcase God’s handiwork this side of Heaven.

Michael Bublé is one of them.

His voice is silky like melted chocolate – and smooth like velvet.  His “Crazy Love” CD is just, well, Fantastic!

He sings great old tunes in a sort of Jazzy-Bluesy-Big Band way that makes me WANT to clean my house.  (Hello!)  And then when my house is clean, I want to grab my husband’s hand and dance in the living room!

He’s like Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and Harry Connick Jr. all wrapped up into one.

Sigh.

I love his rendition of Cry Me a River.   I enjoy his version of Crazy Love.  And my house sparkles when I listen to Baby (You’ve Got What it Takes).

As much as I love his voice, I’m not willing to pay $207 for 2 tickets to his concert in Cleveland. But I plan to wear this CD out while I wash dishes, fold laundry or even drive around town.  And sing right along with him.  And dance with my girls.

And hopefully dance with my husband.  Cuz that is something else I really love. =)
