Coffee Chats and a Cup of Faith for Mommies

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas!

Snow on the ground!  Finally.

Although its being whipped into a frenzy by brutally cold winds that threaten to steal our breath away – it finally “looks” like Christmas!  So many houses with lights and trees and all kinds of decorations – and now the snow to add to the setting!

It snowed yesterday – on my birthday – and I have always felt like snow on my birthday was a present from God. =)  I love snow – and I love watching it snow – so when it happens on my birthday it is much like my own personal confetti…

And then it leaves that beautiful glittery covering over what has been dead and dying – and it is just lovely.

Some of the most breathtaking beauty in nature that I’ve ever seen has been that breathtaking contrast of black tree limbs stretching to touch the top of the sky, all while covered in a blanket of white, sparkling snow.  For someone who loves color like I do, it’s one of the most inspiring and moving scenes in nature for me.

God is an artist.  With the most simple of tools, He paints our world and takes glory in it!

Whether He is sprinkling snow onto a front yard, or fashioning the fingerprints of a growing baby inside his mothers body – God is an artist.

There is no one like our God.

So as the Christmas decorations light up the night – and Christmas trees sparkle with sentiment and riotous color in living room windows – lift up your hands to the Maker of Christmas.  The one who sent His only son to be born among us – Emmanuel, God with us.

Glory to God in the highest [heaven], and on earth peace among men with whom He is well pleased – men of goodwill, of His favor]. ~ Luke 2:14 (Amplified)

Debbie, I marvel when I look at the landscape God presents each season. Each is unique. Fall is probably my favorite. My husband used to commet “we live in the most beatiful part of Ohio” especially when we drove down Pleasant Valley Rd. and looked at all the beauty on the hillsides. I agree there is something serene when you look out at the stark picture of black trees against the white snow. Breathtaking. Then add the Christmas lights people put up and you could look for hours. We are indeed blessed with God’s handiwork.
