Things I Love: Vera Bradley’s Betsy

Sigh. After wishin’ and hopin’ and thinkin’ and prayin’ – plannin’ and dreamin’ each night… I bought my first serious Vera Bradley handbag. I’ve written about my previous favorite VB item – the All-in-One Wristlet which has been a serious help to my busy life. And I’ve been using a “Little Betsy” that my sister in law handed down to me several years ago. It’s been great for vacations and quick trips – even had enough room to tuck a diaper into when necessary. (I even got a coordinating diaper bag online when my oldest was a baby so we matched!)
But a lot of times it was cramped. I carry a LOT of stuff with me – my “entourage” if you will – and when my In-Laws gave my hubby & I some money for Christmas, I decided it was time to invest in a bigger handbag that I’ve been eyeing for a long time.

It’s a full-size version of the purse I’ve already grown accustomed to and I. Love. It!
The Imperial Toile is a coffee & cream pattern with a contrasting stripe of hot pink! The straps are nice and sturdy – about 1″ wide and measure an almost 11″ drop – perfect for me. The front has a slip pocket and the interior has the 6 slip pockets which are PERFECT for holding a variety of cosmetics, pens, index cards, and more. And it measures large enough for me to carry my All-In-One Wristlet, a couple of other interior bags and necessities as well as a full sized notebook! HELLO!
I don’t normally spend that kind of cash on handbags – it feels like a tremendous splurge – it feels like extravagance. But since I’m not often given a good amount of cash at any one time, and I’ve been changing handbags and totes every week or so for the past couple of months trying to find the right fit – I do believe I’ve found it.
I love the Imperial Toile pattern because it is brown – I love to carry brown or red bags – and it is dark enough to hide the dirt well – but the accent of hot pink keeps it Girly looking, too. It’s been fun actually using it this week and discovering that I have ROOM to grow with it, but for now I’m leaving it sparsely filled. ahhhhhh.
Today (and everyday) – it’s absolutely something I Love!!!
