Christmas Meme

I’m just jumping in on Lisa’s Christmas meme at Stop and Smell the Chocolates!!!
1. Have you started your Christmas shopping?
Yes – and it’s pretty much DONE! We did most of it online and BOY did that save us a lot of hassle!
2. Tell me about one of your special traditions.
As a mom, it’s been making sugar cookies with my girls and niece & nephew. I learned after the first year to bake all the cookies and save the frosting for the enthusiastic kids! This year we didn’t get to do it because of sickness. =(
3. Are you a Black Friday Shopper?
Not an early morning shopper with 2 little ones – but I’ve been known to pop into my favorite stores mid-afternoon on Black Friday…
4. When do you put up your Tree?
After December 4 (my husband’s birthday). I like to put it up before December 10 (my birthday), but this year it went up on December 13.
5. Do you Travel at Christmas or Stay home?
We visit my husband’s family (in our town), and drive up for a Christmas brunch to my parent’s house on one weekend in December. We’ve also been able to spend time with my mom’s family for a reunion about an hour away for the past couple of years. That has been really great!
6. What is your funniest Christmas memory?
I think it’s when I was still living with my parents and we watched National Lampoon’s Christmas vacation and my dad laughed so hard he cried – and that made all of US laugh!!! (His favorite part is when the cat bites the plugged-in Christmas lights…)
7. What is your favorite Christmas Movie of All time?
White Christmas. Elf. A Christmas Story. National Lampoon’s Christmas vacation.
8. Do you do your own Christmas Baking, what’s your favorite treat?
I don’t bake NEARLY as much as my mom used to – cookies mainly – and only a few. My favorite Christmas goody is really the Buckeye!!!
9. Fake or Real Tree?
Fake. Prelit. 3 foot.
10. What day (as a mom) does the actual panic set in to get it all done?
Christmas eve (see next question)
11. Are you still wrapping presents on Christmas Eve?
YES!!! I can’t get a good set time to wrap presents when both of my girls aren’t around. Nap time is too unpredictable and my husband often works late into the evening so it’s usually a wrapping party Christmas Eve!!!
12. What is your favorite family fun time at Christmas?
As a mom – I LOVE Christmas morning. Especially with my two girls who are so animated and entertaining!
13. What Christmas craft do you like the best?
I don’t do them right now… Printing coloring pages for my girls and taping them to our front door is about as exciting as it gets.
14.Christmas music. Yes or No? If yes what is your favorite song?
YES – in December only – the week of Christmas. I love What Child is This and Mary, Did you Know?
15. When do you plan to finish all your shopping?
We are done! I love it. The online shopping thing was GREAT for us. No dragging a 4 yr old and 2 yr old to the store to get it all done. We had one shopping trip with them and it was ENOUGH!
