It Won’t Be Long Now…
By CoffeeMom | November 2, 2009
October always brings “Fall” to my mind. And what a lovely Fall we’ve been experiencing. While we’ve had much rain – the colors have been SOOOOOOOO glorious! Sometimes, my mind fell back to Anne of Green Gables and how she bestowed normal, everyday moments and places with grand and glorious titles.
One of our favorite drives took us through a forest of golden yellow with just a few splashes of evergreen and rust. It was absolutely breathtaking. Something along the lines of the Yellow Brick Road…
And the leaves on the ground – I tend to like them. As do my girls. I don’t mind them piled up in our yard – blowing around in the breeze. Neighbors probably don’t like them so much, but the color lasts longer even after it falls to the ground. And what fun it is to fall into a pile of leaves or be buried in crispy piles.
And then November rolls around and “Wham!” the holidays approach!
The holidays – Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years – are only weeks away. Baking & decorating Christmas cookies with nieces & nephew – holiday meals together – sweet potato pie and pumpkin cake roll – and time with family in between working and playing.
How do you prepare for the holidays? How do you celebrate them?
