Mommies Coffee Break

Hello World! I am so excited to debut Mommies Coffee Break! Dianna and I have been friends through my Moms of Faith site for awhile now. She is an awesome person and a fantastic friend. We have a mutual respect and admiration for each other and though it would be fun to have a blog that we can chat about our lives!

So…to get started and give you all a taste of who we are, we came up with some questions we will both answer…well…Dianna came up with most of them…LOL

Who We Are:

Where do you live?  

Dianna: South Carolina

Lara: Florida

How old are your kids? 

Dianna: 7 1/2, 6, and 2

Lara: 13 and 3
 
Did you always want to be a Mom?

Dianna: Yes eventually. When I was younger I wanted to have a career first but things didn’t quite work out that way. LOL

Lara: Sort of…LOL…I had this whole “Super Model” plan. However, my life took a different path and I am where I want to be NOW. A Mommy to two beauties!
 
What is one of your favorite Mommy moments? 

Dianna: Probably the time that each of my girls called me mommy for the first time. It was really a special moment. I think I was just so excited that they knew me. LOL

Lara: When we let down our hair and cut loose…tickling, laughing, and just enjoying each other as Mom and daughters. And, of course the hugs and kisses!
 
How old were you when you gave your life over to the Lord?

Dianna: I was about 4 years old when I gave my heart to Christ  and then when I was 15 rededicated my life to the Lord. I guess I wanted to make a commitment as an adult too. Mainly more for me than anyone else.

Lara: I was 8. However, I did not grow up in a Christian home and I had NO clue what a personal relationship with Jesus Christ was until I was twenty.
 
What is your favorite book?

Dianna: Besides the Bible my all time favorite book is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. It’s an old west recreation of the book of Hosea and the Love that God feels for and toward us. He never gives up.

Lara: Yeah, I am a Bible fan too. I am also a Frank Peretti fan. I LOVE his books!! I have read them all and reread them! LOL! He needs to write a new one!
 
What is your favorite thing to do when not on the computer?

Dianna: Spend time with my family. I love being with my family and having fun. Sometimes we play hide and seek with the girls or Old Maid or something and it is a blast.

Lara: My family time of course. Just for me though, I would say scrap-booking or writing…or reading the latest Peretti book! LOL
 
What is the one thing you would have to have along if you were stranded on a deserted island somewhere?

Dianna: Food. I am not good if I am physically hungry. LOL

Lara: My Bible…man can not live by bread alone, Dianna…LOL!!!!!
 
What did you want to be when you grew up?

Dianna: When I was younger I wanted to be a teacher or a pop singer.

Lara: When I was very young a teacher…then as I got older, a Super Model.
 
What’s your favorite color?

Dianna: My favorite color is blue. All shades of blue.

Lara: Green…NOT all shades…LOL…and many blues and cream.
 
What’s your favorite flower? 

Dianna: My favorite flower would be a rose. I know its typical but it reminds my of my grandma and grandpa Borieo because they grew them and they were always so beautiful. Even after my grandma died my grandpa took care of them.

Lara: My favorite flower is the sterling rose…very rare…and very beautiful.
 
If you were a fruit what kind would you be and why?

Dianna: Hmmmmm I think maybe a strawberry because I’m dripping with sweetness. LOL okay maybe not dripping with it but I think I have a sweetness to me. I mean who doesn’t like a strawberry LOL. If you don’t please don’t tell me. Can you imagine what that will do to me. ROFL!!

Lara: Let’s see…hmmmm…I would be a kiwi because they are exotic…and I am a beauty ya know…ROTFL! Also, because they are sweet AND sour. I am a very sweet person….but I have a bite to me as well…LOL!
